24253
Snatch (DVD)
🔴 Condition - Very Good 🔴

Directed by Guy Ritchie, Snatch is a film with several storylines juxtaposed in such a way so as to conflict as the climax is reached, similar to Ritchie's previous film Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels.
It is a very British film full of gangsters, diamonds, illegal dog and boxing fights, and great character names such as ‘Frankie Four Finger', ‘Boris the Blade' and ‘Bullet Tooth Tony'.
The story begins with ‘Frankie Four Fingers' (Benicio Del Toro) stealing a diamond the size of a fist from a place in Antwerp. The stone is for ‘Cousin Avi' (Dennis Farina) who resides in New York. On his way to New York Frankie stops in London where the presence of the stone has been alerted to ‘Boris the Blade' (Rade Sherbedgia), who decides he wants it. Enter Vinny, Sol and Tyrone who are hired by Boris to steal the stone, and we are introduced to the world of illegal boxing through Frankie's gambling problem.
Turkish (Jason Stratham) and Tommy (Stephen Graham) are small time illegal boxing promoters who have a slight problem their star boxer ‘Gorgeous George' has been knocked out by Mickey (Brad Pitt in a great role) a star bare knuckle boxing gypsy (or pikey as they are known throughout the film). This does not please Bricktop (Alan Ford) who is the self proclaimed honourable c*nt of the illegal boxing circuit. Turkish is then forced to cut a deal with Mickey to become his new boxer. When Mickey's fight doesn't go as planned, Tommy and Turkish get on the wrong side of Bricktop.
The unfolding sequence of events result in ‘Cousin Avi' flying to London to meet his good friend ‘Doug the Head' (Mike Reid) to try ensure that he gets his diamond. Enter ‘Bullet Tooth Tony' (Vinnie Jones) and the game of cat and mouse (or should I say dog and stone) of who's got what continues with the characters intertwining towards a fantastic finale and if that makes no sense, then the DVD is great to rewatch until it does.

EXTRA FEATURES
