The pioneering Italian immigrants of the Tully district faced many struggles and challenges - np jobs, a formidable language barrier, little money and few possessions to call their own. During World War II, many lived with the fear of being arrested, at any time of day or night, and sent away away to internment camps. They were slandered and ridiculed because of their lifestyle and culture. This book, written by their families, chronicles their migration into a strangers in a strange land to integral parts of the society which accepted them.
